There has never been a greater need for what I have to offer the world at this time in 
our collective history and evolution. We are living at a time of unprecedented volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity on so many levels and this is not going to change in the foreseeable future. If anything, the rate and frequency of change and challenges will only increase.“
"We can not stop the waves, but we can learn to surf.”  

This quote attributed to Jon Kabat Zinn resonated with me the first time I heard it at a 7-day MBSR Retreat with Jon in 1999, and has been the impetus for my S.U.R.F.E.R.S.Method.
My unique method weaves together ancient wisdom traditions (yoga and Buddhism) and modern advances in mind/body medicine and neuroscience.  We can learn holistic fitness practices to master our internal locus of control and positively impact our ‘circle of influence.’  We can become fitter, more adaptable, and resilient as we age. We can use all of our life lessons and experiences to become the greatest version of ourselves and live lives full of possibility and to the fullest.
It is also the Rise of the Divine Feminine era and a powerful time to balance the long-standing male dominance and patriarchal obsolete systems and organizational principles.  It is a time for Holism, Global Awareness, and Gaia Consciousness.  We are poised at the precipice of human evolution and at a critical 'tipping point'.
Beyond Aging Gracefully synergizes the best Optimal Aging practices, High Flow Lifestyle practices, and the creative, intuitive, integrative, healing energy of the Divine Feminine.
 The greatest influences in my life have been my mom (who died at the age of 32), JackLaLanne, who lived to 96 and introduced me to the world of fitness, and Rolf Gates(whom I trained with formally, marrying my love of yoga with my love of Buddhism).

Early in my life, I learned to ‘surf the waves of my life’ by going within, tapping into and developing my inner resources, and my mental- and emotional- fitness by improving my physical fitness. My earliest influences were my mother and Jack LaLanne. When I did not succeed as a Pre-med. student, I decided to do what I could to keep people healthy and prevent disease. Back in the mid-80s, I knew that exercise, nutrition, and stress reduction were keys to longevity and increased ‘health span’.

I have helped 1,000s of clients across the country, from Hollywood stars to White House staff members, develop healthier lifestyles and improve their fitness.  I helped Alfre Woodard physically prepare to audition to play Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do With It?.  I trained members of the White House Staff and the Secret Service from 1990 -1992.   I have helped clients with autoimmune diseases, physical disabilities, and octogenarians.

In 2020, I adapted and reinvented my business once again; transitioning my services and educational programs to online/virtual platforms.  This new way of doing business allows me to reach people all over the world and help exponentially more people.  As an entrepreneur and self-described, ‘one woman show’ I enjoy the creative flexibility I have.  I am the Conscious Energetic Orchestrator (CEO) of my business and movement.  I believe that systemic change starts with individual change, and I am on a mission to empower as many Active Agers as I can with practices to age optimally, to decrease dis-stress/dis-ease, to increase JOY and become confident Life Surfers living with endless possibilities. Life Surfers are stress resistant, resilient, adaptable, holistically healthy and fit.  They are fit to live lives full of choices and freedom well into their 80s and 90s.  “Fitness = Freedom” is one of my mottos.

For the past 40 years, I have continually improved my knowledge and skills.  I have a Masters’s degree in Nutrition Education & Applied Physiology from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Psychology, and German from Bucknell University. I am an ACE-Certified Personal Fitness Trainer (specializing in Mind/Body Fitness and Behavior Change), an ACE-Certified Group Fitness Instructor, an E-RYT-500 Yoga Instructor, a licensed and BCTMB-Certified Massage Therapist, and have completed two professional, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction trainings with Jon Kabat Zinn. In 2021, I completed the Inner MBA program, a joint program offered by Sounds True, LinkedIn, and New York University.

I love helping people become more resilient, adaptable, stress-resistant, and fitter via exercise, mindfulness-based stress reduction & relaxation techniques, massage therapy & bodywork, and the 8-limbed yogic path. You can increase your health span and age optimally and actively.
